Identification of gene expression signatures and related microRNAs for chronic glomerulonephritis based on microarray and bioinformatic analysis

(Submitter supplied) To further reveal the key genes and related microRNAs involved in the CGN and to determine the potential molecular mechanisms of CGN pathogenesis. We have employed microarray expression profiling as a discovery platform to identify genes and related microRNAs. To identify the key ceRNA in CGN, we generated a ceRNA network using data from the National Center for Biotechnology Information Gene Expression Omnibus (NCBI GEO). more...

Transcriptomic analysis reveals distinct adaptive molecular mechanism in the hippocampal CA3 from rats susceptible or not-susceptible to hyperthermia-induced seizures

(Submitter supplied) Here we conducted a temporal analysis of the transcriptomic and microRNA changes in the ventral CA3 of rats that develop (HS group) or not-develop (HNS group) seizures after hyperthermic insult on the eleventh postnatal day. The selected time intervals corresponded to acute, latent, and chronic phases of the disease.

Development of gene expression signatures for lnc-URIDS knock down rat dermal fibroblast

(Submitter supplied) In previous study we found that Lnc-URIDS increased in diabetic dermal fibroblast and delayed wound healing. To further verify the roles of lnc-URIDS in fibroblast during wound heaing, A lnc-URIDS shRNA lentivirus and a control lentivirus were transfected into rat dermal fibroblast respectively (three independent replicates for each group) for 48h. Then, differential expressed genes between Control fibroblast and Lnc-URIDS knockdown fibroblast were detected by using microarray expression profiling though Agilent rat 4 x 44K gene expression microarrays (Agilent Technologies, Santa Clara, CA) .

Transcriptomic response in the heart and kidney to different types of antihypertensive drug administration [heart]

(Submitter supplied) To unravel antihypertensive drug-induced gene expression changes that are potentially related to the amelioration of end-organ damages, we performed in vivo phenotypic evaluation and transcriptomic analysis on the heart and the kidney, with administration of antihypertensive drugs to two inbred strains of (i.e., hypertensive and normotensive) rats. We chose to use six antihypertensive classes: enalapril (angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor), candesartan (angiotensin receptor blocker), hydrochlorothiazide (diuretics), amlodipine (calcium-channel blocker), carvedilol (vasodilating beta-blocker) and hydralazine. more...

Altered mRNA expression of cultured dorsal root ganglia neurons at different times of rat

(Submitter supplied) To explored the altered genes during the axon regeneration of rat dorsal root ganglia neurons, we utilized Gene Expression Array to find out the altered expression of genes in cultured DRG neurons at different times. When we digest the cells from rat DRGs with enzymes, we only get the cell bodies of neurons without axons. During the axons re-growth after the neurons planted, it must be amount of genes expression will changed. more...

Screening of Genes Related to Glucose and Lipid Metabolism in Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease by Gene Microarray

(Submitter supplied) We used gene expression microarray to explore the correlation between gene expression profiles and find out the target genes related to lipid and glucose metabolism in NAFLD. A rat model of NAFLD was established by feeding male rats with high-fat diet and Agilent DNA microarray was used to detect gene expression profiles of liver tissues. We explored differentially expressed genes and intersection of them by using Gene ontology (GO) and Pathway analyses. more...

Transcript changes in primary Leydig cells treated with Sertoli cell released exosomes

(Submitter supplied) In this study, we aim to figure out if Sertoli cells released exosomes can regulate the survival and steroidogenesis of Leydig cells. We found Sertoli cells released exosomes can cross the blood-testis barrier, deliver their contents into the Leydig cells, and promote the survival of Leydig cells through CCL20.

Effect of maternal dioxin exposure on pituitary mRNAs in fetal rats at gestational day 18

(Submitter supplied) We found that oral administration of TCDD (1 µg/kg) to pregnant rats on gestational day 15 suppressed pituitary syntheisis of growth hormone during the last fetal stage. We performed a DNA microarray analysis to identify the genes linked to the attenuated expression of GH, using the male and female fetal pituitary at GD18 when the reduced expression of GH started to occur because of TCDD.
