Murine CD4+ T cells: naive vs. experimental autoimmune uveitis

(Submitter supplied) miRNA expression profiling of CD4+ T cells comparing naïve mice and experimental autoimmune uveitis (EAU) mice. EAU was induced by immunization of retinal antigen (IRBP1-20) in complete Freund’s adjuvant (CFA). CD4+ T cells were isolated and purified from the spleen and draining lymph nodes 13 days after immunization.

The miRNA expression signatures in young and aging C57BL/6 mouse kidney

(Submitter supplied) To identify novel aging-related miRNAs, we initially established a physiological aging mouse model (20-month old male C57BL/6 mouse), compared with 2-month old male C57BL/6 mouse. Then, the Agilent miRNA microarray was performed to profile miRNA expression levels in kidney from 20-month old male C57BL/6 mouse (designated as Aging) and 2-month old male C57BL/6 mouse (designated as Young).

Exosomal microRNA (miRNA) expression in Blonchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) collected from mice infected with influenza virus and inoculated with poly(I:C).

(Submitter supplied) To clarify the profile of in BALF exosome collected from mice infected with influenza virus, we infected 100000 pfu of A/Puerto Rico/8/1934 (PR8) strain. BALF was collected at 24, 48, and 72 hour post infection (hpi). For comparison of the profile of the miRNA in BALF exosome induced by innate immune response, we also intranasally inoculated mice with 50 μg of poly(I:C) and collected BALF at 72 hour post inoculation. more...

Differential impact of Dicer deficiency on microglia of the developing and adult brain (Agilent miRNA microarrays)

(Submitter supplied) Microglia seed the embryonic neuro-epithelium, expand and actively sculpt neuronal circuits in the developing CNS, but eventually adopt relative quiescence and ramified morphology in the adult. Here we probed the impact of post-transcriptional control by microRNAs (miRNAs) on microglial performance during development and adulthood by generating mice lacking microglial dicer expression at these distinct stages. more...

miR-338-3p controls the late onset of auditory thalamocortical disruption in schizophrenia models

(Submitter supplied) Among the fundamental unresolved questions in psychiatry is why symptoms of psychosis, such as auditory hallucinations in schizophrenia, fail to appear until early adulthood. Here we report that in mouse models of 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q11DS), a leading genetic cause of schizophrenia, synaptic transmission at thalamocortical inputs to the auditory cortex becomes disrupted later in life, thereby recapitulating the adult onset of psychosis. more...

MicroRNA expression profiling of CCl4-induced liver fibrosis in Mus musculus

(Submitter supplied) To investigate the differences in microRNA expression profiles between fibrotic and normal livers, we performed microRNA microarrays for total RNA extracts isolated from mouse livers treated with carbontetrachloride (CCl4) or corn-oil for 10 weeks (n=3/group). MicroRNAs were considered to have significant differences in expression level when the expression difference showed more than two-fold change between the experimental and control groups at p<0.05. more...

Global miRNA expression is temporally correlated with acute kidney injury in mice

(Submitter supplied) MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are negative regulators of gene expression and protein abundance. Current evidence showed implication of miRNAs in acute kidney injury (AKI) that led to obviously increased morbidity and mortality. Herein, we investigated whether miRNAs be initiative regulators showing responsibility for pathological development of AKI.

miRNA profile in mice lung after influenza A infection

(Submitter supplied) The regulation of host defense against influenza A viruses (IAVs) infection has attracted much attention, especially for type I interferon (IFN)-mediated innate response. Here we revealed that miR-93 expression was significantly downregulated in Alveolar epithelial type II cells (AT2) upon IAVs infection through RIG-I/JNK pathway. Inhibition of miR-93 was found to suppress host antiviral innate response by facilitating type I IFN effector signaling, and JAK1 was identified to be directly targeted by miR-93. more...
