Treatment protocol |
tfs-mpa rats received tfs (300Hz, 50mA) for 5 minutes, 5 minutes after they received an injection with 3-mercaptopropionic acid (37.5 mg/kg, i.p.). Four hours after the sample was collected. Rats in the mpa groups only received the dose of the proconvulsant. Rats in the tfs group only received the stimulation.

Data processing |
Data normalization and statistical analyzes were performed in R (Bioconductor). Two main packages were used: affy and limma. Raw microarray data were normalized using the robust multichip average (RMA) normalization method. For differential gene expression, general linear models and empirical Bayes statistics were used. An absolute logarithmic fold change in expression greater than 1 and an unadjusted P-value lower than 0.05 were thresholds used for gene selection.
