Precision-cut liver slice (PCLS, 300-micron-thick) sections were generated from fresh surgical tissue, and cultured with various candidate anti-fibrotic agents desolved in DMSO for 24h at 80% O2 and 5% CO2. PCLSs were snap-frozen in RNAlater for storage until RNA isolation.
