Treatment protocol |
LPS (L) or 0.9% NaCl (C) were infused post-hepatic via jugular vein (second letter of group designation) and pre-hepatic via portal vein (third letter of group designation), see Characteristics field. Samples were taken at slaughtering 195 minutes after infusion.

Pigs were fed restrictively with diets with or without deoxynivalenol contamination for 29 days. (C as first letter of group designation for control diet and D as first letter for deoxynivalenol contaminated diet)

Deep frozen tissue was first homogenized in liquid nitrogen using a ball mill. The resulting powder was kept under liquid nitrogen until RNA purification using the NucleoSpin® RNA kit (Macherey-Nagel GmbH & Co. KG, Düren, Germany).
