Cells were grown in culture using media as described in the repository from where each cell line was obtained. All cells were maintained at 37C in 5% CO2. All cells were either purchased within 4 years of use or validated to be the correct line using the Promega GenePrint 10 kit.

Cells were washed with PBS and then Trizol-LS added directly to the cells, the manufacturers protocol was followed with the addition of glycogen during precipitation which was carried out overnight at -20C
