Treatment protocol |
Blood samples were collected into EDTA tubes within 4.5 hours from stroke onset. Buffy coat was collected after centrifugation at 1500 g, 4°C for 15 minutes and mixed with RNAlater solution (Ambion).

Data processing |
The images were processed with the Affymetrix GeneChip Command Console software (Affymetrix) for CEL file generation. To check the array quality, Affymetrix Expression Console was used. Samples that demonstrated good quality results (pm mean, bgrd mean, pos vs neg auc, ...) were subjected to subsequent analysis. Raw expression values obtained directly from .CEL files were preprocessed using the RMA method. Statistical language R and Bioconductor associated packages were used to process data.
