Trizol extraction of total RNA (according to the manufacturer's instructions) from skeletal muscle of front and hind limb of fetuses at E15.5 and E16.5, and from tibialis anterior of mice at three weeks of age (P21). RNA samples were sequenced by the standard Illumina protocol to create raw sequence files (.fastq).

Data processing |
Reads were aligned to the mm10 build of the mouse genome using TopHat version 2. Aligned reads were counted with the Homer software (analyzeRepeats) and differentially expressed genes identified using edgeR. Genome_build: mm10 Supplementary_files_format_and_content: Excel tables containing normalized read counts obtained from edgeR
