Title Comparison of the transcriptomes of immortalized Hertwig’s epithelial root sheath (HERS) cell line HERS-H1 and HERS-C2
Organism Rattus norvegicus
Experiment type Expression profiling by array
Summary We compared the transcriptome of the immortalized HERS cell line HERS-H1 and HERS-C2, using the Agilent Rat 4x44K Gene Expression Microarrays. We used primary Hertwig’s epithelial root sheath (HERS) cells as naïve cell reference.

Overall design Three biological replicates were used for each of the samples (primary HERS cells, HERS-H1 cells and HERS-C2 cells). The primary Hertwig’s epithelial root sheath cells were isolated from the mandibular first molars of postnatal 8 days Sprague-Dawley rats. Immortalized HERS cell line HERS-H1 and HERS-C2 were derived from the primary Hertwig’s epithelial root sheath cells by retroviral introduction SV40 large T antigens.
