Expression of a dominant‐negative AtNEET‐H89C protein disrupts iron–sulfur metabolism and iron homeostasis in Arabidopsis

(Submitter supplied) Iron–sulfur (Fe–S) clusters play an essential role in plants as protein cofactors mediating diverse electron transfer reactions. Because they can react with oxygen to form reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inflict cellular damage, the biogenesis of Fe–S clusters is highly regulated. A recently discovered group of 2Fe–2S proteins, termed NEET proteins, was proposed to coordinate Fe–S, Fe and ROS homeostasis in mammalian cells. more...

Cytosolic Fe-S cluster assembly-deficient mutant, nar1 and nbp35 mutant seedling

(Submitter supplied) Expression profiling of two-weeks-old wild type, nar1-4/- and nbp35-3/- mutant seedlings. The cytosolic Fe -S cluster assembly pathway is involved in cytosolic and nucleus Fe-S protein maturation. The nar1 mutant was identified by the screeing for abnormal transcription feature in endosperm. We performed genome-wide transcriptional profiling of weak allele nar1-4/- using microarrays to estimate whether the cytosolic Fe -S cluster assembly could affect on the transcriptional profile even in vegetative tissues.

Interaction between mitoNEET and NAF-1 in cancer cells

(Submitter supplied) The NEET proteins mitoNEET (mNT) and nutrient-deprivation autophagy factor-1 (NAF-1) are required for cancer cell proliferation and resistance to oxidative stress. MitoNEET and NAF-1 are also implicated in a number of other human pathologies including diabetes, neurodegeneration and heart disease, as well as in development, differentiation and aging. Previous studies suggested that mNT and NAF-1 could function in the same pathway in cancer cells, preventing the over-accumulation of iron and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in mitochondria. more...

Transcript analysis under phosphate and iron deprivation in 7 day old Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings

(Submitter supplied) Arabidopsis wild-type plants (Col-0 accession) were grown on control (+Fe+P) for 7 days on 0.1X MS then transferred to three different medium: control (+Fe+P), iron deficiency (-Fe+P), and iron and phosphate deficiency conditions (-Fe-P). Shoots were collected 39 h, 52 h and 76 h after the transfer. For RNA-seq experiments, three biological replicates were used for each time point (39h, 52h and 76h) and each condition (+Fe+P, -Fe+P and -Fe-P) for a total of 27 samples.

Expression data from Arabidopsis under simualted acid rain treatments

(Submitter supplied) Acid rain, as a worldwide environmental issue, can cause serious damage to plants. In this study, we provided the first case study on the systematic responses of arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh.) to simulated acid rain (SiAR) by transcriptome approach. In this dataset, we include the expression data obtained from Arabidopsis with simulated acid rain treatments for 68 hr, and contrasting with control group in the same time. more...
