REMARK GeneRIF: These results show that b-arrestin1 and b-arrestin2 exert
differential actions on PAC1R internalization and PAC1R-dependent
ERK1/2 activation, and suggest that the two b-arrestin isoforms may
be involved in fine and precise tuning of the PAC1R signaling
            pathways.

COMMENT REVIEWED REFSEQ: This record has been curated by NCBI staff. The
reference sequence was derived from DA809763.1, AK226138.1,

Summary: This gene encodes type I adenylate cyclase activating
polypeptide receptor, which is a membrane-associated protein and
shares significant homology with members of the glucagon/secretin
receptor family. This receptor mediates diverse biological actions
of adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide 1 and is positively
coupled to adenylate cyclase. Multiple alternatively spliced
transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been
identified. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010].

Transcript Variant: This variant (4) lacks two consecutive exons in
the upstream region and one exon in the downstream region in the
CDS, as compared to variant 1. The resulting isoform (3) lacks two
internal segments, as compared to isoform 1.

Sequence Note: This RefSeq record was created from transcript and
genomic sequence data to make the sequence consistent with the
reference genome assembly. The genomic coordinates used for the
transcript record were based on transcript alignments.
