Treatment protocol The cell pellets were harvested by centrifugation and washed twice with TBS pH 7.4. The pellets were stored at -80C.
Growth protocol Yeasts were grown in rich medium (YPD) at 30C to log phase.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol Total RNA was extracted by the Geneaid MiniRNA kit according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Label biotin
Label protocol Biotinylated cRNA were prepared according to the standard Affymetrix protocol from 10 ug total RNA (Expression Analysis Technical Manual, 701021 Rev. 5, Affymetrix).
 
Hybridization protocol Following fragmentation, 10 ug of cRNA were hybridized for 16.5 hr at 45C on Yeast Genome 2.0. GeneChips were washed and stained in the Affymetrix® GeneChip® Fluidics Station 450 according to the Mini_euk2v3_450 protocol.
Scan protocol GeneChips were scanned using Affymetrix GeneChip® Scanner 3000.

Data processing The data were analyzed with Microarray Suite version 5.0 (MAS 5.0) using Affymetrix default analysis settings and global scaling as normalization method. The further analysis was performed using GeneSpring 11.
