Total RNA was isolated with RNAeasy kit from Qiagen RNeasy. RNA quality was checked on Agilent Bioanalyzer. All samples used for microarray analysis have high quality score (RIN >9).

200 ng of RNA was reverse transcribed with random hexamer primer, amplified and terminal labeled with biotin using Affymetrix Whole Transcript Sense Target Labeling kit according to manufacturer's protocol.

Four replicates of each group were prepared, labeled, and hybridized to Affymetrix mouse Gene ST 1.0 GeneChip

scanned on Affymetrix GeneChip scanner 3000. Data were collected using Affymetrix GCOS software.

Data processing |
Statistical and clustering analysis was performed with Partek Genomics Suite software using RMA normalization algorithm. Differentially expressed genes were identified with ANOVA analysis. Genes that are up- or down-regulated more than 2 fold and with a p<0.001 were considered significant. Significant genes were analyzed for enrichment for pathways using DAVID bioinformatics database (http://david.abcc.ncifcrf.gov/) and Ingenuity Pathway Analysis software.
