Sample type |
RNA |
Source name |
Anopheles female salivary gland
Organism |
Anopheles gambiae |
Characteristics |
stage: adult tissue: salivary gland gender: female
Treatment protocol |
Mosquitoes were anaesthetised briefly by chilling on ice, then immediately dissected.
Growth protocol |
5 day old male and female mosquitoes. Samples for males and females where blooded after the bloodmeal over at three time points over 72hrs (24hrs, 48hr, 72hrs)
Extracted molecule |
total RNA |
Extraction protocol |
Total RNA was extracted using TRIzol reagent (Invitrogen)
Label |
biotin
Label protocol |
Biotinylated cRNA was prepared according to the standard two-cycle Affymetrix protocol from 50ng total RNA (Expression Analysis Technical Manual, 2004, Affymetrix)
Hybridization protocol |
Following fragmentation, 15 ug of cRNA was hybridized for 16 hr at 45C on GeneChip Plasmodium/Anopheles Genome Array. GeneChips were washed and stained in the Affymetrix Fluidics Station 450.
Scan protocol |
GeneChips were scanned using the GeneChip scanner 3000 7G.
Description |
Anopheles female salivary gland
Data processing |
The data were analyzed with [R] Bioconductor using the GC-RMA normalization and MAS probe detection libraries.
