Mice (backcrossed C57Bl/6J background) were housed in QBP vivarium (University of Queensland, St. Lucia, Queensland, Australia) with 12h light–dark cycle and fed a standard diet containing 4.6% total fat (from Specialty Feeds, Glen Forrest, Western Australia) and water provided ad libitum.

Mice were overnight fasted and then sacrificed at 9:00AM in the morning. RNA was extracted from snap frozen quadriceps femoris with tri-reagent (Sigma), followed by treatment with QIAGEN RNeasy mini kit in accordance with the prescribed protocol provided with the kit. Quality control was performed with Agilent Bioanalyser 2100.

Description |
Transgenic mice contained a truncated version of human RORalpha1 (RORalpha1delDE) where the entire E region and part of the hinge/D region have been removed. This transgene is driven by a skeletal muscle specific human skeletal alpha-actin (HSA) promoter. 4068846001_D

Data processing |
Data was compiled using BeadStudio v2.3.41 (Illumina). Normalized data was produced using GeneSpring GX version 11 via normalization to control genes, where control genes were represented by all genes with an Illumina detection score equal to one in at least three out of the six samples (7730 control genes in total).
