Description Corneal stromal cells were isolated from 7-8 weeks old CD-1 mouse and cultured in DMEM containing 10% fetal bovine serum and 10ng/ml TGF-bate 1 as described in our paper. Total RNA of the primary cultured myofibroblasts was extracted using TRIzol reagent. Targets were produced using standard Affymetrix procedures from 5ug of Total RNA. The expression values of all probe sets are scaled to 150 of Target Intensity by using Affymetrix Microarray Suite 5.0. Three replicates of corneal myofibroblasts were analyzed.

Data processing The model-fitting DNA chip-analyzer software (dChip; Affymetrix Inc.) and an invariant-set normalization method were used for data normalization and to calculate a model-based expression value for each transcript.
