Extraction protocol Total RNA was extracted using Trizol reagent (Sigma) and treated with DNase I (NEB) following the manufacturer's protocol.
Libraries preparation was based on a method previously described (Engreitz et al., 2013). The protocol was modified to get only 3' ends of the genes by applying polyA selection step after fragmentation and first linker ligation.
