Hypothalamus tissue was harvested from 32 strains of mice from the Mouse Diversity Panel. Total RNA was isolated from frozen tissue using Trizol, and cleaned up using an RNeasy kit (Qiagen). One microgram total RNA from three separate samples was pooled and 3 ug used for cDNA synthesis and amplification.
