Data processing The data were normalised using quantile normalisation with beadarray (version 1.16) in R/BioConductor. This algorithm includes a log transformation. Probes were reassigned to Entrez GeneIDs by aligning the probe sequence to the mm9 genome using the BLAT algorithm. Replicate expression data for the same GeneID were then merged by calculating the mean. Illumina probe IDs and sequences used for each merged probeset are given as comma-delimited lists in the columns ‘Probes’ and ‘Probe_Sequences’ in the normalised data matrix.
