GIST-T1 cells (3.0E+6 cells) were transfected with 100 pmol of a miR-335 mirVana miRNA mimics (Ambion) or a mirVana miRNA mimic Negative Control #1 (Ambion) using a Cell Line Nucleofector kit L (Lonza) and a Nucleofector device (Lonza) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Forty-eight hours after transfection, total RNA extraction was carried out.

| Growth protocol |
GIST-T1 cells were cultured in Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium supplemented with 10% heat-inactivated fetal bovine serum. The cultures were incubated at 37 ºC in a humidified incubator with 5% CO2.
