Extraction protocol Total mRNA was extracted using Qiagen's RNAesy Micro kit according to the manufacturer's instructions; After checking the quality of RNA with an Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer, total RNA was amplified utilizing Single Primer Isothermal Amplification (SPIA®Nugen Ovation pico WTA) system according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Label protocol Biotinylated cRNA were prepared using the GeneChip® WT terminal labeling kit (Affymetrix) according to the manufacturer's instructions.
 
Hybridization protocol Following fragmentation, ~5 microg of cRNA were hybridized for 16 hr at 45C on GeneChip® Mouse Gene 1.0 ST microarray (Affymetrix). GeneChips were washed and stained in an Affymetrix Fluidics Station
Scan protocol GeneChip® Scanner 3000 7G system (Affymetrix) according to standard protocols.
Data processing The data were analyzed with Microarray Suite version 5.0 (MAS 5.0) using Affymetrix default analysis settings; CEL files were generated. CEL files processed/normalized using RMA from the oligo (oligo_1.30.0) Bioconductor package. Values are log2-transformed expression values after RMA-normalization.
