Total RNA was isolated from small intestinal samples using TRIzol reagent (Invitrogen, Breda, the Netherlands) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. RNA was treated with DNAse and purified using the SV total RNA isolation system (Promega, Leiden, the Netherlands).
