Title |
Transcriptional profiling of the probiotic E. coli Nissle 1917 strain under simulated microgravity and normal gravity |
Organism |
Escherichia coli |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
We performed comparative transcriptomic profiling of E. coli Nissle 1917 (EcN) to determine the effect of microgravity (MG) on cell growth and metabolism.
|
|
|
Overall design |
Growth phase: Exponential and stationary growth phase. Culture condition: MG and normal gravity (NG) condition, in duplicate, M9 minimal media with glucose, 37°C, total 8 samples MG condition can be simulated by rotary cell culture system (RCCS) from Synthecon Inc. (Houston, TX, USA) when it is rotated around the horizontal axis. On the other hand, NG condition can be simulated by RCCS when it is rotated around the vertical axis.
