    Summary
This gene encodes a member of a disintegrin and metalloprotease (ADAM) family of endoproteases that play important roles in various biological processes including cell signaling, adhesion and migration. This gene is expressed in a regulated fashion during the late stages of spermatogenesis. The encoded preproprotein undergoes proteolytic processing to generate a mature, functional metalloprotease enzyme. This gene is located adjacent to two other ADAM genes on chromosome 8. RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
