Summary
Encodes a putative MYB transcription factor involved in stomata development, loss of FLP activity results in a failure of guard mother cells (GMCs) to adopt the guard cell fate, thus they continue to divide resulting in abnormal stomata consisting of clusters of numerous guard cell-like cells. This phenotype is enhanced in double mutants with MYB88. Its transcript levels change after inducing MUTE expression in a mute background.
