Expression data from Mouse embryo

(Submitter supplied) Mice lacking the function of the PcG protein CBX2 (also known as M33) show defects in gonadal, adrenal, and splenic development. In particular, XY knockout mice develop ovaries but not testes, and the gonads are hypoplastic in both sexes. Although testis and ovary arise from a common embryonic primordium, they represent outcomes of opposing fate determination. This decision to differentiate into a testis or an ovary hinges upon the balance between two antagonizing factors, pro-testis SOX9 and pro-ovary β-catenin. Identification of a novel transcriptional variant in the mouse Sry locus by long-read RNA-seq and conventional RNA-seq

Sry is exclusively expressed in Nr5a1-highly expressing gonadal supporting cell precursor, pre-Sertoli cells, with a peak at embryonic day 11.5 (E11.5).
