Hpa1Xoo-Mediated Transcriptome in Transgenic Cotton

(Submitter supplied) Hpa1Xoo-Mediated Transcriptome in Transgenic Cotton Reveals the Constitutively Expressed Diverse Defense genes in Multiple Signaling Pathways Associated with Hypersensitive Cell Death Like other harpins, harpinXoo enables plants to acquire multiple resistance to pathogen and insect attack. However, the molecular model is not fully understood, especially in transgenic plant harpinXoo for genome-wide constitutive expression. more...

Comparative analysis of transcriptome profiles of G. arboreum L. cv. and its fuzzy-lintless mutant (ANOI 1960) during fibre development stages.

(Submitter supplied) Comparative analysis of transcriptome profiles of G. arboreum L. cv. and its fuzzy-lintless mutant (ANOI 1960) at 0 and 10 dpa. Cotton is one of the most commercially important fibre crops in the world and used as a source for natural textile fibre and cottonseed oil. The fuzzy-lintless ovules of cotton mutants are ideal source for identifying genes involved in fibre development by comparing with fibre bearing ovules of wild-type. more...

Responses of Zea mays root tissue to inoculation with the necrotrophic root pathogen Phytophthora cinnamomi

(Submitter supplied) Phytophthora cinnamomi is a devastating soil-borne oomycete with a very broad host range however there remains a major gap in the understanding of plant resistance responses to the pathogen, furthermore, necrotrophic plant-pathogen interactions, particularly those of root pathogens, remain poorly understood. Zea mays exhibits non-host resistance to the pathogen and has been well characterised as a model species. more...

A single functional blast resistance gene Pi54 activates complex defense mechanism in Rice

(Submitter supplied) To investigate the responses of resistance gene Pi54 at transcriptome level in blast resistant transgenic rice line TP-Pi54 during infection by Magnaporthe oryzae, we studied the co-expression analysis using microarray along with susceptible non-transgenic line Taipei 309 (TP). Suitable controls for both lines were used. The comparative analysis of differentially expressed genes was conducted.

Sclerotinia infected vs Mock infected controls in B. napus Westar and Zhong You 821

(Submitter supplied) The fungal pathogen Sclerotinia sclerotiorum infects a broad range of dicotyledonous plant species and is the causative agent of stem rot in Brassica napus. To elucidate the mechanisms underlying the defense response, we studied the patterns of gene expression in a partially resistant variety of ZhongYou 821 (ZY821) and a susceptible line from Westar over five time points, 6, 12, 24, 48, and 72 hours post-inoculation (hpi) using a B. more...

MicroRNA and mRNA expression profiling analysis revealed the regulation of plant height in Gossypium hirsutum

(Submitter supplied) Background: Dwarf cottons are more resistant to damage from wind and rain and associated with stable, increased yields, and also desirable source for breeding the machine harvest varieties. In an effort to uncover the transcripts and miRNA networks involved in plant height, the transcriptome and small RNA sequencing were performed based on dwarf mutant Ari1327 (A1), tall-culm mutant Ari3697 (A3) and wild type Ari971 (A9) in Gossypium hirsutum. more...

Time-resolved genome-wide pathogenic gene expression analysis of the plant pathogen Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) via RNA-Seq

(Submitter supplied) Host-pathogen interactions, in particular during the early stages of infection, are important for the fate of both the invading pathogen and host. In pathogens, these interactions activate diverse pathogenic signals to cause disease in the host and evade the inevitably activated immune responses of the infected host. In this study, we used in vitro assay system and RNA-seq to analyze the time-resolved genome-wide gene expressions of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. more...
