This strain is part of a comparative study evaluating E. coli clones isolated from the gut of hospitalized patients with strains causing urinary tract infection in one single center. The Escherichia coli strain SMG011F7 was isolated from a rectal swab from an inpatient with urinary tract infection. This sequence refers to clone F7 from the patient SMG011. This strain is a clone of the strain isolated from the urine of the same inpatient.
