Description

This strain is part of a comparative study evaluating E. coli clones isolated from the gut of hospitalized patients with and without urinary tract infection in one single center. The Escherichia coli strain SMG008F11 was isolated from a rectal swab from an inpatient with urinary tract infection. This sequence refers to clone F11 from the patient SMG008. The other clones isolated from the rectal swab of the same inpatient are SMG008F1, SMG008F2, SMG008F9, and SMG008F10. The strain fulfils the molecular criterium to be classified as ExPEC.
