show Abstracthide AbstractRNAseq analysis was performed for C. trachomatis serovar L2 and S. pyogenes NZ131 in the presence and absence of tryptophan to monitor transcriptional changes. Overall design: RNA was collected from C. trachomatis L2 infected cells at 10, 14, and 24h post-infection. At 10hpi, tryptophan or leucine starvation was induced with Indolmycin or AN3365, respectively, or cells were treated with IFN-gamma. Treatment samples were collected at 14 and 24hpi. Comparisons were made over the timecourse series and comparing treatments to untreated at 10hpi. For S. pyogenes NZ131, the bacteria were cultured in the presence or absence of tryptophan for 1hr prior to RNA collection in the presence or absence of rifampicin (Rif) to determine transcript half-life. All data were compared to the amino acid content of the encoded protein for a given gene.
