8 species of green algae were reared in monoculture and biculture to study the transcriptomic response of these species to the presence of a competitor. This study was used to test basic ecological hypotheses but the data has potential relevance for others interested in biofuels research.
Sample: Grown in 1L media bottles filled modified COMBO growth medium (enriched with 0.1 mM KCl and 30uM NH4Cl final concentrations); incubated in Wheaton (349000-A) roller racks at 20C under a 16:8 hour light:dark cycle at a light intensity of ca. 81 uEinstein
