Design: Fresh leaves of 'Belle de Fontenay' were sampled, DNA was extracted with the Nucleo Mag Plant kit (Macherey Nagel, Dren, Germany). Genomic DNA was sent to BGI, Hongkong (China) on dry ice and whole genome shotgun libraries were prepared according to the standard protocol of BGI, where they were sequenced on a T7 DNBseq platform.

Genetic diversity of tetraploid potatoes (Solanum tuberosum spp. tuberosum) has remained controversial over the last decades. Here, we built up a high-quality pan-genome with 40 haplotypes of ten diverse founder potatoes in Europe to achieve insights into the haplotype diversity.
