Design: Illumina sequencing library preparation followed the MiSeq DNA High Throughput Library Prep Kit (Illumina) manufacturers instructions. The process began with shearing 100 ng DNA into smaller fragments. The fragmented DNA underwent end-repair to create blunt-ended, 5 phosphorylated double-stranded DNA molecules. Size selection using a bead-based method achieved a suitable fragment size (150 bp) for Illumina sequencing.
