show Abstracthide AbstractThis Danish Bird Genome Project (DBG) aims to release an additional 353 avian genomes, that when combined with 97 relevant previously published avian genomes, total 450 species that largely represent the natural avian species diversity recorded in Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Through our concerted efforts, we have overseen the sequencing of 472 samples representing 441 bird species found in Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland achieving an impressive coverage of 88% of the nation's avian diversity. This milestone positions Denmark with its autonomous territories as the inaugural nation with a comprehensive genomic database covering most of its avian inhabitants.
