Study: Tanzanian Brucella melitensis Biosurveillance
show Abstracthide Abstract
This study was performed to identify strains of Brucella sp. that are circulating in the trans-boundary region of Tanzania and Rwanda (Kagera) with the goal of investigating 1) local strain diversity 2) links between human, livestock, and wildlife Brucella and 3) transmission across porous national borders. These assemblies are the first B. melitensis genomes from Tanzanian samples, increasing our knowledge of circulating genotypes and laying the groundwork for future epi-genomic studies.
