Design: RNA were extracted with Qiagen RNeasy kit and treated with DNAseI. Libraries were constructed using 1 g total RNA with Illumina TruSeq Stranded mRNA kit by the POPS transcriptomic plateform (IPS2, Orsay, France) following Illumina kit recommendations. Library were sequenced on Illumina HiSeq2000 100 pb paired-end mode. Adaptors and low quality pair-end sequences were removed from the raw reads and the ribosomal RNA was filtered using the SortMeRNA algorithm (Kopylova, E., No, L. & Touzet, H. (2012) SortMeRNA: Fast and accurate filtering of ribosomal RNAs in metatranscriptomic data. Bioinformatics 28, 32113217).

Study: Transcriptomic analysis of nickel response and hyperaccumulation in the Coluteocarpeae tribe of Brassicaceae.

The plant Brassicaceae family contains numerous species able to hyperaccumulate nickel and other metals, in particular in the Noccaea genus (Brassicaceae, Coluteocarpeae tribe). Microthlaspi perfoliatum (Brassicaceae, Coluteocarpeae tribe) belongs to the closest genus to Noccaea that do not contains nickel hyperaccumulator species. The comparative analysis of the transcriptomes of Microthlaspi perfoliatum and Noccaea caerulescens may help to identify mechanisms involved in nickel tolerance and hyperaccumulation.
