Study: Targeting MDR Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm with an evolutionary trained bacteriophage cocktail exploiting phage resistance trade-offs
show Abstracthide Abstract
Sequencing of a Pseudomonas aeruginosa collection of clinical strains. Specific bacteriophages (phages) were isolated active against this collection. The phages were evolved towards killing bacterial cells growing in biofilms, generating evolved phages. One strain (Paer09) was infected using the evolved phages and a cocktail, generating phage resistant (or evolved) Paer09 isolates.
