Study: Outbreak in nursery caused by enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O121 and tranfer of ESBL plasmid
show Abstracthide Abstract
An outbreak caused by enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O121 was detected in two nurseries. The O121 isolates were clonal according to whole genome sequence analysis, while only the isolates from one nursery had ESBL plasmid. We have obtained ESBL-producing E. coli O86 from one of the patients, suggesting the transfer of ESBL plasmid.
Sample: MiSeq reads of Escherichia coli O121 EC12050
