AlpA family phage regulatory protein
This family consists of several short bacterial and phage proteins which are related to the E. coli protein AlpA. AlpA suppress two phenotypes of a delta lon protease mutant, overproduction of capsular polysaccharide and sensitivity to UV light [1]. Several of the sequences in this family are thought to be DNA-binding proteins. [1]. 7511582. Alp suppression of Lon: dependence on the slpA gene. Trempy JE, Kirby JE, Gottesman S;. J Bacteriol 1994;176:2061-2067. (from Pfam)
AlpA family transcriptional regulator
AlpA family transcriptional regulator similar to Escherichia coli DNA-binding transcriptional activator AlpA, a positive regulator of the expression of the slpA gene
