choline uptake/conversion transcriptional regulator CudC
Members of this family are MarR family transcriptional regulators involved in the processes such as choline uptake and conversion of choline to the compatible solute glycine-betaine (often called simply betaine), which helps prevent damage from desiccation. All members of the seed alignment were chosen for being encoded in close proximity to betaine-aldehyde dehydrogenase, suggesting a role regulating the processes of choline uptake and conversion to betaine.
GbsR/MarR family transcriptional regulator
GbsR/MarR family transcriptional regulator containing a MarR family DNA-binding helix-turn-helix (HTH) domain, may act as a transcriptional activator or as a transcriptional repressor in controlling the expression of genes encoding metabolic enzymes
