MarC family protein

Integral membrane protein family that includes the protein MarC. MarC was thought to be a multiple antibiotic resistance protein. Nevertheless, a study has shown that MarC is not involved in multiple antibiotic resistance [1]. The function of this family is unclear. [1]. 17954692. The marC gene of Escherichia coli is not involved in multiple antibiotic resistance. McDermott PF, McMurry LM, Podglajen I, Dzink-Fox JL, Schneiders T, Draper MP, Levy SB;. Antimicrob Agents Chemother. 2008;52:382-383. (from Pfam)
