histone H1-like repetitive region-containing protein
This family of basic, repetitive prokaryotic sequences includes Hc2 proteins from Chlamydia, and a distinct family from Burkholderia and related species that has a conserved non-repetitive C-terminal region. Additional uncharacterized predicted proteins include tandem repeats resembling KKAAA, suggesting, based on which proteins are called similar to histone H1 from eukaryotes.
1,4-alpha-glucan-branching protein; Ku protein
1,4-alpha-glucan-branching protein transfers a segment of a (1->4)-alpha-D-glucan chain to a primary hydroxy group in a similar glucan chain| Ku protein, together with LigD, forms a non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) DNA repair enzyme, which repairs dsDNA breaks with reduced fidelity; binds linear dsDNA with 5'- and 3'- overhangs but not closed circular dsDNA nor ssDNA; recruits and stimulates the ligase activity of LigD
