ribosome modulation factor
This protein associates with 70s ribosomes and converts them to a dimeric form (100S ribosomes) which appear during the transition from the exponential growth phase to the stationary phase of Escherichia coli cells. Rmf/CrpP family protein
This HMM describes a family of proteins about 60 amino acids in length with a near invariant CPY motif and with highly similar structures as predicted by AlphaFold. Members include Rmf (ribosome modulation factor), the integrative and conjugative element (ICE) protein CrpP, and a putative phage structural protein found encoded major and minor capsid proteins. AlphaFoldDB structures showing similar predicted folds include A0A0Q4SRM6, A0A5B7UVE0, and A0A6L9FUH1.
ribosome modulation factor (RMF), during stationary phase, converts 70S ribosomes to an inactive dimeric form (100S ribosomes)
