5-oxoproline transporter, DUF969 family subunit
5-oxoproline (pyroglutamic acid) occurs in cells as a metabolite, but also can be imported. This bacterial protein family, previously called DUF969, is one of two tandem membrane proteins that appear to be subunits of a 5-oxoproline transporter. Members of this family are usually encoded near the PxpABC 5-oxoprolinase.
