biofilm development regulator YmgB/AriR family protein
This HMM hits YmgB (AriR - regulator of acid-resistance influenced by indole) Escherichia coli K-12 with a high score, but also YcgZ with a score barely above the cutoffs of the model. Members of the family are implicated in the regulation of gene expression, but it remains clear whether interaction with DNA is direct or through another protein.
regulatory protein YcgZ
YcgZ, as found in Escherichia coli, is a small protein of unknown function that appears to participate in regulatory cascades involved in processes such as biofilm formation and response to blue light. YcgZ is homologous to YmgB/AriR, a paralog also found in E. coli and described as having a role in regulatory cascades.
