Members of this family of type VII secretion systems as found in the Firmicutes (T7SSa) are called EssB in Staphylococcus aureus, YukC in Bacillus subtilis, and are the counterpart to EssB from T7SSb systems in Actinobacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
