PCMD domain-containing protein

This domain has been suggested to participate in carbohydrate metabolism [1]. Structural evidence indicates that it might be a carbohydrate binding domain, with or without enzymatic activity. In particular, it has been hypothesised that it might act as a glycoside hydrolase [1]. [1]. 20944224. Structure of Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron BT2081 at 2.05 A resolution: the first structural representative of a new protein family that may play a role in carbohydrate metabolism.
