Definition

A rare infectious disease caused by the Gram-negative bacillus <i>Burkholderia</i> (<i>pseudomonas</i>) <i>pseudomallei</i>, also called Whitmore bacillus. The infection can be acute, subacute, or chronic and affects the skin, the lungs, or the whole body. [from ORDO]
