1.

Neuromyelitis optica

A rare inflammatory disease of the central nervous system characterized mainly by attacks of uni- or bilateral optic neuritis (ON) and acute myelitis. [from ORDO]

MedGen UID:
45063
Concept ID:
C0027873
Disease or Syndrome
2.

Shwachman syndrome

Shwachman-Diamond syndrome (SDS) is characterized by: exocrine pancreatic dysfunction with malabsorption, malnutrition, and growth failure; hematologic abnormalities with single- or multilineage cytopenias and susceptibility to myelodysplasia syndrome (MDS) and acute myelogeneous leukemia (AML); and bone abnormalities. In almost all affected children, persistent or intermittent neutropenia is a common presenting finding, often before the diagnosis of SDS is made. Short stature and recurrent infections are common. [from GeneReviews]

MedGen UID:
124418
Concept ID:
C0272170
Disease or Syndrome
3.

Cranial nerve neuropathy

A neoplastic or non-neoplastic disorder that affects one of the cranial nerves. [from NCI]

MedGen UID:
1160
Concept ID:
C0010266
Disease or Syndrome
4.

Demyelinating disease

A broad group of disorders that affect the myelin sheaths that cover the neurons. Myelin sheathes cover neuronal axons in the central and peripheral nervous system and function to increase travelling impulse speeds. Disruption of this sheath impairs neuronal transmission and can result in disorders such as multiple sclerosis and Guillain-Barre syndrome, among others. [from NCI]

MedGen UID:
4189
Concept ID:
C0011303
Disease or Syndrome
5.

Optic neuritis

Inflammation of the optic nerve. [from HPO]

MedGen UID:
18181
Concept ID:
C0029134
Disease or Syndrome
6.

Autoimmune disorder of the nervous system

A disorder characterized by the degeneration of the nervous system due to autoimmunity. Representative examples include multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and myasthenia gravis. [from NCI]

MedGen UID:
155946
Concept ID:
C0751871
Disease or Syndrome
7.

CNS demyelinating autoimmune disease

Conditions characterized by loss or dysfunction of myelin (see myelin sheath) in the brain, spinal cord, or optic nerves secondary to autoimmune mediated processes. This may take the form of a humoral or cellular immune response directed toward myelin or oligodendroglia associated autoantigens. [from MONDO]

MedGen UID:
199756
Concept ID:
C0751873
Disease or Syndrome
8.

Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder with anti-AQP4 antibodies

MedGen UID:
1842475
Concept ID:
C5680295
Disease or Syndrome
9.

Spinal cord glioma

A neoplasm that arises from glial cells in the spinal cord. Representative examples include astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma, and ependymoma. [from NCI]

MedGen UID:
423646
Concept ID:
C2937245
Neoplastic Process
10.

Amyelia

Congenital absence of the spinal cord. [from HPO]

MedGen UID:
451024
Concept ID:
C0266510
Congenital Abnormality
