Definition

A spindled-to-epithelioid, oncocytic, nonendocrine neoplasm of the anterior hypophysis that manifests in adults and follows a benign clinical course. Pituitary spindle cell oncocytomas are firm, fibrous, and adherent to surrounding structures and are highly vascular. [from HPO]
